In celebration of National Space Day on May 1, 2020 PCG is excited to announce the launch of our new Online Space Program beginning with a project created in partnership with the Aldrin Family Foundation, ShareSpace Education, and NASA.
We Came in Peace: The Apollo Visitor Complex Project is a STEAM-based team activity that invites families to imagine a time when people travel to the Moon for vacation, visiting lunar landing sites from the 1969–1972 Apollo missions. Due to the unique characteristics of the Moon, these historic sites have been preserved almost exactly as they appeared when the astronauts first left their footprints there. Future visitors will be able to see the landing sites through the eyes of the first humans that walked the Moon.
In this unique program families can work together to research, report, design, construct, and present a visitor complex for people visiting the Apollo lunar landing sites. Working as a team, participants will create a video that will be shared with others in PCG's online learning community, Pepper™ with a chance to win prizes.
PCG s proud to present this unique adventure in a time of increased distance learning and remote education. This activity combines elements of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math with the excitement of space travel to challenge teams and amaze teams brave enough to accept the challenge.
